Hi, it's been a while since I posted here last time...
Weeell, I know, it is already February and pretty late to make this kind of post... but, let me do that for fresh start of 2020, anyway. (For some reason I feel very prolonged New Year vebe...) Better than never.
Reflection of 2019
Overall, busy but pretty good year it was. RL got busier and less time for fandom...however I managed to achieve some stuff and should be proud of myself.
Life
My husband had changed his day job to part-time job to focus more on his career as a choral conductor/music director. I helped him with singing in his ensembles or organizing concerts/events, so, more real life/family stuff. I was so happy for him that he didn't need to work for a job he didn't want to (it required him so many overwork) anymore, and be able to spend more time for creative activeties. I enjoyed singing with his groups, with amazing, talented peple too.Only down side was these activities ate up my free time (like weekday evenings after work and weekends) for rehearsals and performances, I had much less "ME" time. It stressed me out a bit, especially I really couldn't spend much time for fandom/art stuff, haha.
The biggest event in 2019 was traveling to Europe with my husband for two weeks! That became a big splurge but we have no regret :D We visited Germany and Hungary, and spent time with friends there. Since I had studied music back in college, visiting those countries had been always my dream!
Fandom
As I wrote above, I spent less time for fandom in 2019... less drawings/outputs I feel like, but I had done with some cap-IM community events:

My very first event in 2019... I made this and it was such a fun experience. Currently I am working for Remix Madness 2020, hopefully I can make something for it.

navaan and cptxrogers . It was my first time to join RBB but turned out huge success XDMidyear Exchange
This new event was full of fun as an artist. I made two artworks for my favorite writers (and fics) and received 4 (!?) fics for my art works. I was so lucky! Hope they'll have similar events in future :D

I worked with Navaan (again, by coinsidence lol) and made the art for her fic. I wanted to explore other universes alongside AA, so it was a nice opportunity for me to draw 616 :D
MTH
I joined MTH as a creator last year! I offered two auctions. I think I could do better with what I offer, but two kind people won my auctions. Now I'm excited to draw for them.
Holiday Exchange
It was my 4th? HE (I guess.) It was my first time to receive comics universe prompts. Took me a while to brainstorm but I personally like the outcome ;)
Meeting up with fandom friends!
I met with Navaan twice in 2019 lol our second time meet-up was in July (the first one was back in 2018), while she was visiting Tokyo for her business. We spent a full day sightseeing Tokyo, chatting about stevetony and fandom... I had so much fun with her! Then, when I visited Germany with my husband we had our meet up again. She and her husband generously took us sightseeing Frankfurt and a neighbor city, can't thank enough to them! (well, this time we couldn't have much time for fandom chat tho... since husbands were around lol)
I also had met up with some new fandom friends I got to know through discord :D isn't it amazing that there are some stevetony people from English fandom around Tokyo lol
With these people I met, we visited Seoul for stevetony fan event lol I was astonished how Korean fandom is passionate for stevetony... I bought many fanbooks and merches, met up other fans from South Korea (dang wish I could speak their language...) I had such a splendid time there. (The pictures are from the event, they really made a wedding cake for our boys lol)

So, in AA stevetony discord, one of the members suggested that we should celebrate the 6th year anniversary of Avengers Assemble! The show premiered on May 26th 2013... so, from 26th till June 2, we will have a lil anniversary event for AA!

It is kinda embarrassing to look back on old drawings, but at the same time it's feeling good to remember how I was so excited about AA stevetony lol the second book was pretty much all about pining Steve and I was... just... (blush)(and you know it's so hard to fill the pages with Steve since he's very... pale in B&W pages lol)(He DOES need Tony to balance!)
Drained out
Feb. 20th, 2019 11:25 pmI really want to draw something or work on translating my AA fanbook... but somehow all my energies are drained out and no passion to do anything productive... Maybe my work stresses me out recently or just being too busy and tired. I want to be more skilled artist so I impose myself to draw something everyday, but it's not easy (I knew it though)
I barely made a Valentine's Day doodle but that's it... I signed up for SkillShare recently and have kept watching watercolor lesson videos... so have been making some inputs at least. Maybe it's time to do some outputs. Even I feel reluctant, once I start to draw, eventually I may regain the energy (hopefully.) There's a long "I want to draw this" list (and the bingo!) but why it's so hard to make a little move for it *cry*
Just a journal
Jan. 26th, 2019 08:19 pmToday, I was just spending at home all day... too lazy to go out, but it turned out pretty productive!
I had streaming AA with Icy, watched many AA eps (again) and talked a lot... haha, I'm so crazy about this show XD And after that I took time to clean up/organize my closet... well, I had wanted to do that for a while but, you know, put it off all the time since it's not emergency. However it had got messier and messier and I had hard time to find stuff there, so finally did it. There were mostly my art supplies, stationaries, a stack of sketchbooks, Marvel merches, pens, pens, and more pens.... why I had this much of pens??? I discarded so many stuff and sort them in categories... now it got lot better!
While sorting out the junks, I revisited my sketchbooks... it's embarrassing to see some old stuff, but I found some nice sketches too. They are worth to redraw properly, so I just decided to keep them. Mostly tooth-rotten fluffy AA stevetony doodles though (and some nsfw *blush*)Tweaking the DW design
Jan. 24th, 2019 10:15 pmI took an afternoon off from work today. Did't have any particular plan but needed to have a break.
Then, I used that off-time for tweaking my DW design... I know only very basic HTML/CSS so had to relearn it... but actually it was fun and I'm happy with the result! Of course I tweaked a pre-made layout but still it got me few hours to figure out ^^;
what I'm happy about the most is, now all the drawings I post can be fit in the entry space! Images sticking out from the post was bugging me so badly. Now I can post more arts comfortably lol And I think the layout can be seen from the mobile better than before.For the next step I'd like to change the fonts... but I'll need time to figure it out (well I just changed the font families and it didn't work) If you have any good resources or advices for DW customize, please share with me!

I joined Holiday Exchange 2018!

Reflections 2018 / Resolutions 2019
Jan. 8th, 2019 06:52 pm Now the Epiphany was passed and my winter break was over... officially Christmas and the holiday season are ended. I went to the first day of work in 2019 yesterday. Well, after a week of vacation, everyone was so in low motivation (ofc including me.)
It is kinda late to make this type of posts, but I made reflections on 2018 and resolutions for 2019. Sorry I'm not good at summarizing so it is pretty a long post.

As I wrote in the last post, I'm now enthusiastic for drawing itself, so want to make more improvements. I want to draw everyday even just a bit!
Watercolor!!! Fill all my sketchbooks
I've been into watercolor past months. I want to improve my watercolor skill too and for that, would like to fill all my sketchbooks. Sketchbook Challenge!
Be more challenging as an artist
1. Make English fanbook (working on it!)
I've been working on translating my fanbook to make English version. It is one of my dreams and hopefully complete it till spring...
2. Take commissions or something like that
I'm still not good enough for that, but one day I'd like to try to take commissions... it'd be a long-term goal but I write it here for now!
Keep making AA fanworks and be enthusiastic about it!
... and also make more fanworks for non-AA stevetony too lol
Read comics, et familiar with it :)
Now feel like 2019 will be a packed year too! Hope I can achieve many resolutions. Let's see.

Moving
My fiancee had finished with his masters in the States and come back to Japan. So we moved to a new apt for two people. The apt is cheap and overall not too bad, but I'm not happy with its lack of sunlight (very cold!) Considering to move out sometime.
Marriage
I got married with a guy I met at the college in the States. We both have enthusiasm for classic music and shared a lot of good memories through the college time. I'm so lucky to have a wonderful man like him in my life.
Then, my life of the most part of 2018 was pretty busy for wedding and the honey moon stuff even we didn't make a fancy one. We had a wedding in the States where we spent together in the college time, and flew to Hawaii for the honey moon (so typical, huh?) We both fel in love with Hawaii, want to go back there soon.
New Community
I started to join a choir! My major at the college was vocal performance but had a long absence from it since I came back to Japan and started to work for full time. The choir is formed with foreign people who work/study in Tokyo area and many of them have decent music background. I'm glad to find a new community out side of the office :D

In the latter part of 2018, gradually I shifted my fandom activities to English fandom from Japanese one, like, I moved my blog to Tumblr and started to make English posts more, and started to use discord. The reason why is, I love AA and wanted to reach out people who love AA too, and inevitably it'd be outside of Japan. I already had talked with many fandom people from various countries, but 2018 I think I made a big move on my own fandom activity. I am so glad that everyone in cap-im community is so welcoming.

Resolutions 2019
Study/polish my English
It can go to the fandom resolution too. My English is considered as decent enough in my country but I'd like to polish it more (especially output skills... writing and speaking) and want to be able to interact with people more fluently.
Reconsider the current job/career
I've worked for my current job for 5 years now. I think it's a good time to reconsider my career. I don't know what I want to do though.
Quality time with family
Spend more quality time with my husband and parents, siblings, and friends.
Use time/money for good
MTH gave me a good idea about spending money for good, so after that I've tried to use my money for that kinda charity things. I'd like to keep doing that. Some fandom friends doing ko-fi or something like that, so it'd be fun to fund/help them too as a starter in 2019.

So... I haven't posted to DW for a long time. I had made Wordpress.com blog and moved to tumblr for journaling but now Tumblr has made the policy change... It's a good time to use here again? And I also signed up to Fandom Stocking for the first time this year. It would be a very good opportunity to explore this platform more, probably. If more stevetony people have moved to here, it will be definitely the choice for journaling.As I said above, I signed up for the Fandom Stocking! I'm still not very sure where to start, but would love to stuff others' stockings as much as I can! And, here is my stocking! I tried to be not too specific, like, ask for only AA stevetony lol If anything matches to your mood, please stuff something<3
Marumo's Stocking
My holiday season has been filled with a lot of caroling (I joined a choir this year!) compared to former years. I love singing carols, so pretty happy with it! Unfortunately Christmas is not a holiday here in my country but still I found a church to go, and took a day off for Christmas Day. Need to go back to work from tomorrow, but, well, soon we'll have New Year's holidays. Just few more days to go! Then I'll indulge myself to draw more fandom stuff lol

Feeling burnt out

I had been devoted myself to finish a fanbook, and my job was the craziest situation last few weeks. Now I've done with these and feel like pretty much burnt out...
But, see, my fanbook, AA stevetony anthology (ish) turned out really good shape! I welcomed seven fabulous guests and the book comes out 76 pages long! All about AA stevetony! yay. I'm so happy for what I did. Basically it's a huge treat for myself lol

I was attend at the fanbook event and had my booth. Can't believe I have made 3 AA fanbooks, which can fill the table...
Currently I don't have much motivation for drawing, but really want to work on SA3... now I worry I can meet the deadline :( Maybe I need some recharge time to feel better. What will you do when you feel like this?
